Michael Byrne Manufacturing is now offering the most powerful horizontal-boring machine in the industry. The D72-84-1500 like all of our machines is designed for the severest duty imaginable.

This 72" machine is also designed to do 84" bores with a jacking riser raising the centerline while still keeping a low centerline profile. This machine puts out 1,500,000 Lbs. of thrust and 252,000 Ft-Lbs. of torque making it the most powerful machine on the market.

Our machine uses a Caterpillar 6 cylinder 8.8 L engine coupled to a 6-speed transmission and the exclusive Michael Byrne Manufacturing planetary gearbox. Our planetary gearbox is specifically designed for boring machines. Handling the severest shock loads, surpassing any of our competitor models. Also included in our gearbox is a push-pull thrust package protecting the complete drive train.

The axial piston pump supplies 57 Gpm to five hydraulic cylinders with a max pressure of 6,000 psi. This pump also supplies the oil for the push block and winch.

The D7284-1500 has a quadruple bladed dirt ejector. It is held in place by four clamping bolts keeping high pressure ensuring the ejector will not spin. Unlike competitors models who use a pin and cotter key.

Our tracks are connected together by quick-disconnect track connectors. Michael Byrne design heavy box constructed frames, for severe conditions for keeping proper alignment of drive train.

This machine is a split base design for easy lifting in and out of pits.

All machine gauges and warning lights are in sight operators sight view for easy operation. Also included is an emergency switch for total machine shut down.
