More Power in a Compact Space: as a ratio of weight to power transmitted, our reducer will transmit 3 to 10 times more torque for its weight than many competitive models. The compact design allows for a broad range of space-restricted applications.
Versatile Drive Applications: our reducers can be coupled with several types of drives, including hydraulic, electric, internal combustion engine, chain/belt, as well as others. Customized designs are also available.
Quality Control/Testing: All Byrne Gear products are manufactured under a process control system which maintains our high quality level. Every Byrne Gear product is thoroughly tested before it leaves our plant, in addition, each reducer is coupled to a drive motor for actual operation in order to check every detail, including heat generation and noise level.
Gearing Capacity: Because our products are conservatively rated, you can be sure that you have the proper unit for the application. Our gear pressure angles are 25 degrees involute, providing up to 25% more capacity than competitive models.
Gear Quality: starts with our planet gears heat-treated and carburized to Rockwell 62 case hardness. Further quality is assured through grinding to provide the most precise gear available. Grinding also increases gear capacity and reduces heat generation.
Long-wear, Durable Shafting thanks to high alloy steel, heat treated to increase strength and grinding to a "mirror" finish. Special shafting is also offered.
More Bearing Capacity: Because all of our bearing are designed to exceed capacity demanded by the most severe applications, our planetary gears have as much as 300% more bearing capacity compared to competitive arrangements in the same space. You can expect long continuous service from our bearings; and we can also customize bearing requirements to meet your needs.
Thermal Capacity: Due to precision manufacturing and design efficiency, it is not necessary to modify the capacity of our units to accommodate heat generation. Save time and money by eliminating the need for higher horsepower motors or heat exchanger required by many competitive models.
Simple Assembly and disassembly means inspection and reassembly can be done in a matter of minutes on most models. Our gearing does not have to be timed in order to reassemble, so you avoid costly errors likely in other models.

All of our products are rated based upon AGMA standards. As this is one of the most widely excepted international standards, it is easy to compare our unit and to know that the rating you are expecting is the one you will receive.
